Prickley Pear Tutorial
How sweet is this??
Today I'm going to show you how I made this little ornament.
First, gather up your supplies.
I used an old blank ornament that I had in the closet for years. You can use a mason jar lid, or a lid from a paper Mache box. It doesn't even have to be round - a square would work too
You will need some paint and some glitter.
Paint the ornament, let it dry, then ink the edges with a brown ink to distress it a bit. When dry, add glitter to the inside edges and the outside.
Cut out a circle using the ornament as a template. Ink the edges of the circle.
Cut out several "hills" in varying sizes to create the snow.
Next, stamp two trees using the Evergreen Tree Red Rubber Stamp using a pine colored ink.
Cut the bottom portion of one tree to make a smaller tree.
I added snow to the trees using some of the white paint and sprinkling glitter on the paint while wet.
Next, stamp Reindeer Kisses Red Rubber Stamp and color the reindeer using Coptic markers - E31, E35 and E50. I also added some white ink to the black spots on the reindeer backs.
Cut out the reindeer, and ink the edges.
Next, build the scene. Start by adhering the bottom layer snow hill directly to the circle. The next layer of snow hill - use pop dots. Add increasingly more depth by using more pop dots on the trees and snow hills. The deer had 4 pop dots behind them.
Next, stamp "warm winter wishes" from Christmas Trees 2 Clear Stamp Set, cut it out and add silver glitter to the edges and adhere to the larger tree. Add silver stars to the top of the trees. Adhere silver tinsel around the outer edges of the ornament.
Tie a green bow and add it to the top of the ornament. Thread two jingle bells through silver string, tie a bow and adhere to the center of the green bow.
Here is a view a little closer up.
This little ornament was so much fun to make, and of course it's prettier in person!!
Now I just gotta decide if I'm going to give it away or keep it for myself!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and hope you try to make one for yourself!!
Thanks for stopping by!
